Bacteria Shooter
Arcade score attack | Demo | Unity – C#
An action demo: the player shoots bacteria drifting across the screen and tries to post the highest score they can before a ninety-second clock runs out. The loop works, and the part worth showing is what sits on top of the shooting, not the shooting itself.

My role
- Built the demo solo in Unity/C# — spawning, targeting, scoring, timer and the event layer.
- Tuned the value of each target type against how hard it is to hit, so the fastest route to a high score is not simply clicking everything.
Systems I designed
- Colour-coded targets on separate value tiers — hits pay out 10, 20 or 50, so the player is constantly choosing what to shoot rather than shooting everything.
- A risk-or-take-the-money event system: mid-run the game offers a modifier — slow time by 60 % for 10 seconds, or double trouble for 10 seconds — against a flat +100 for declining.
- Timed power-ups picked up from the field, shown as icons in the corner while they last.
- A cumulative organization score that survives the run, so individual attempts add into a shared long-term total.
Core mechanics
- Ninety seconds on the clock, a crosshair, and a field of bacteria that keeps refilling.
- Score popups land where you hit, so the value of a target is readable in the moment rather than from a table.
- When the clock hits zero the run total is added to the organization score and the next attempt starts from there.
